Honeysuckle Oyster Farm grows delicious, succulent oysters in the fresh, pure waters of Katama Bay on Martha’s Vineyard.
HOF farmer and owner Nic Turner was born and raised on Martha’s Vineyard out on his parents’ land in Katama. Nic has his roots buried in this land where he grew up surrounded by a small family farm – a garden loaded with lots of fresh veggies, laying hens, pigs, bees, and plenty of family pets. His parents have been commercial fishermen and continue to make their living from the sea. The cultivation, caring for, and enjoyment of high quality food have always been a central part of everyday life. As an Environmental Studies major at Bowdoin College, the importance of being a good environmental steward was underscored. All of these influences have made Nic’s transition into oyster aquaculture an exciting and challenging, yet comfortable, fit.
